It’s been a hot second since I’ve done a favorites post, and there are a lot of new products in my lineup that I have been constantly using and loving. So in today’s post, I thought I would share some of these products with you.
I got this as a gift for Christmas from my mom, as she said it was reminiscent of one she used in her 20s. To be honest, I was skeptical at first as to how much I would really use it. But, since I got it, I’ve loved it! I use it every time I do my makeup (and now my brows) and I swear it makes it look better. It has four light settings so you can adjust it based on the environment you’re in. If you have the space to do your makeup that’s not the bathroom, I highly recommend this mirror.
I came across this lotion when Bath & Body Works was doing a major sale on its aromatherapy collection. Everything was $4.95, so naturally I stocked up. This was one of the products I picked up, and I am obsessed. It has notes of chamomile and bergamot, which makes it smell amazing. I shower at night, so this is perfect to put on to relax me right before I go to bed.
I was on the hunt for a new foundation when my sister recommended this one to me. She’s been a longtime fan of the Naked foundation from Urban Decay, but it was recently reformulated and renamed to “Stay Naked”. Since my skin has cleared up, I don’t need as heavy of a foundation anymore, so this one is perfect. It doesn’t even feel like I’m wearing makeup and gives me a good medium coverage.
Revolution HD Pro Palette
I picked this up at TJ Maxx last time I was there, which is why I had a hard time finding it online. It’s a palette of 35 high-pigmented neutral shadows, something I’ve been trying to find for a while now. The colors of the shadows are gorgeous, the payoff is fantastic, and it was only $7! If you want some great quality makeup at great prices, check out the makeup section at TJ Maxx.
Years ago, I was on the Clarisonic bandwagon but after only a few years of using it, my brush gave out so I got rid of it. I had thought about getting the Foreo for a long time, so when I was at Sephora back in December, I found the Play Plus model and decided to give it a go. It’s smaller than the other models, but had just as many uses (400) as the others. The only difference is that this one is battery operated versus rechargeable. My pores are smaller and my skin is clearer since using it. Plus, it didn’t cost me a lot — it was only $34!
I’ve mentioned this a few times on the blog, but when I got my new phone in the fall, it came with a free year of Apple TV+. I didn’t discover this until December when I wanted to start watching “The Morning Show”. I now have it and have really been liking the content on there. The next show in my queue is “Dickinson”, which follows the story of Emily Dickinson.
It didn’t take long for me to cave to get Disney+. I have really enjoyed watching all the Disney and Marvel movies I love on there. I only wish this concept came to reality a lot sooner than it did!
Essentially, a Kanban board is a tool to organize the progression of your tasks (Trello is a great digital example). At the beginning of the year, I repurposed a whiteboard I had into a Kanban board for all of the Bright Eyes Creative tasks I want to do. In the last month, I’ve gotten so much more done just by looking at that board everyday.
My Dr. Martens have been one of the most worthwhile clothing purchases I’ve had. They are seriously the best all weather boots I have. I recently wore them to Portland, where they combatted mud, rain, and more. They are a little pricy (mine were $125), but they are totally worth it if you need a go-to pair of boots.
This is more of a service and less of a product, but I’ve been loving spin classes recently, so much so that I cancelled ClassPass and bought an unlimited pass for Cyclebar to try out for the month. The studio is in between my house and work so it’s so convenient for me to go. Plus, it’s a fabulous, high-energy workout that tones you all over!
