It’s the start of a new month, and you know what that means…a clean slate for some new goals! Since this is my first post in February, I thought I would hop on here and share what some of my goals are this month.
I am still getting the hang of my Powersheets as my goal setting system. January was kind of a trial month for me to getting used to how to use them and incorporate them into my daily routine. After watching others do their tending lists (the list of action items you want to get done every day, week, and during the month), I got a better sense of how the Powersheets should actually be used. That said, I had a whole different mindset going into my February tending list.
So, without further ado, here are some of my February goals.
1 // Clean my carpet
This item has been on my to-do list since December, and I clearly never got to it. So this month, I’m making it a priority to clean my carpet. It corresponds with my greater goal of creating a life-giving home (read my 2020 goals post here). It’s been long overdo, and my carpet needs some serious help.
2 // Reach out to old friends and reconnect
We all have those people that we run into on the street and talk about meeting up for coffee and never do. Well, this month, I want to change that. I want to make a list of the friends I’ve been meaning to catch up with and just go out and do it. For some of these people, it’s been years since I’ve last seen them, keeping up with what they post on social media. It’ll be great to see them in person and re-establish our bond.
3 // Entertain at least once at home
This is going to be on my tending list for each month of the year. Often, I find myself feeling down about the size of my apartment. While I can’t have huge get-togethers, I can have a few people over for a quiet dinner party. It’ll give me a chance to use my space, save some money, and hone my cooking skills.
4 // Add one step into my morning routine
I had a rough start to my morning routine in January, trying to do too much at once. I got into a grove doing 1-2 activities, so now I want to add one more into the mix. So this month, I am going to work on adding one more step in my morning routine and consistently do it!
5 // Go to confession
Orthodox Lent starts on March 2 this year, which means most of February will mean getting prepared for it. For me, this means making it to confession. I try to go every year around the time that Lent starts so I have a clean slate going into it.
6 // Gain new clients for Bright Eyes Creative
I’m on a crusade this year to really grow my creative consulting firm, Bright Eyes Creative (sorry for the shameless plug). I want to gain some new business this month, which entails me to reach out to people I already know who might need some brand strategy help. There is nothing more thrilling to me than getting started on a new project.
7 // Workout more, eat out less
These goals kind of go hand-in-hand with one another. I’ve been saying this for a while now, but I really want to eat out less and cook more. Last fall, I ate out a ton, and I’m not letting that happen this semester, both for health and financial reasons. I also want to make time to workout on the days I don’t have class. I got an unlimited membership to Cyclebar, so I’m already one step closer to fulfilling this goal.
These are the goals that I hope to accomplish this month. It may seem like a lot, but you would be surprised what a little determination, time management, and focus can do.
