Happy President’s Day! I am fortunate enough to have today off. I’ll be spending it flying back from Chicago and getting myself ready for the week. In today’s post, I thought I would go ahead and give you all some self-care ideas for your day off. Obviously, these can be used on any day off that you might have, so you can go ahead and keep them in your back pocket for when that’s the case.
Here are five self-care ideas for your day off.
1 // Pamper yourself
Whether you do your nails, put on a face mask, or get your nails done, take the time on your day off to pamper yourself a little bit. If you do this in the evening before bed, you will go back to work feeling refreshed, together, and ready for the week. You’ll have some extra time to do activities you otherwise wouldn’t have time for.
2 // Exercise
What better activity to do on your day off than to go get a workout in? Take a class, go for a walk, or hit the gym to get your blood pumping. You might feel a little sore if you haven’t been in a while, but it will feel so good at the end of the day. Plus, you will feel accomplished for making yourself go on your day off!
3 // Read a good book
I feel like many of us would be more into reading if we had the time to. What better than a day off? Grab a book off your reading list, cozy up on the couch with your drink of choice, and just read! You’ll be surprised at how fast the hours just fly by when you’re enthralled in a good book.
4 // Get creative
Having a day off is perfect for a passion project or two. Do you have some memory keeping to catch up on or a chapter you want to write in your novel? Take some time on your day off to just get creative by working on a passion project you might have been putting off because other tasks took priority.
5 // Cook or bake a new dish
Since you’re not in a hurry to go anywhere on your day off, take some time to experiment in the kitchen. Pull out a new recipe you may have been to afraid to make and just go for it! You have nothing to lose by just trying. And you never know, it might become one of your favorites!
Hope you all find some time for self-care today!
