Happy Friday everyone! Welcome to another edition of Friday 5. This week, I have some very fun things to share with you all that I discovered this week. It was a harder week for me, just with this whole social distancing thing. I realized all of my fun events I had planned for April and May have been cancelled, in addition to my trip to Tampa. So that’s a bit rough, but I’m trying to make the best of it by doing activities I wouldn’t normally have the time to do, and it’s made such an impact, I want to incorporate them into my daily and weekly schedule going forward.
Here’s what I’ve been loving this week:
1 // Coronacrafting
My friend who lives in New York created this idea of virtually crafting over Google Hangouts and called it “coronacrafting”. We had the first one this last week, and it was a huge success! We all picked a craft to work on and just chatted while doing it. It gave me an opportunity to work through my handlettering practice and get some face-to-face interaction at the same time.
2 // “Ford v. Ferrari”
With my love of F1 racing, I was super excited to see this movie ever since it came out. My family rented this the other night to watch, and I loved it! The movie depicts the joint venture between Ford and Shelby American to create a faster car than Ferrari to compete with at 24 Hours of Le Mans. Matt Damon and Christian Bale give a stellar performance throughout the film as Carroll Shelby and Ken Miles respectively. So if you love racing or movies that are based on a true story, you’ve got to watch this.
3 // Bread
This week, I attempted to bake my first loaf of bread. Because what better thing to do during social distancing than bake? It looks a little bit rustic, but tasted so good! And, the recipe is foolproof too.
4 // Daily Sudoku
Since being home and having a lot more time on my hands, I’ve been playing a lot more games on my phone as of late. One that I’ve rekindled my love for is sudoku. I’ve always loved sudoku and games like it. So, I re-downloaded it on my phone and have been trying to play it during the day as just a mental break. The app has a daily challenge you can play, so I’ve loved taking a 15-minute break to complete it.
5 // Walking
Before we got our snowstorm at the end of the week, it was a nice break during the day to get outside for fresh air and exercise. I went on a long walk this week, and I was in such a better headspace when I got back and ready to sit down and tackle the rest of my day. When your gym is closed, walking is the next best thing!
